Sponsored Lounge Contractor at Web Summit Lisbon
Once again we were delighted to be chosen as the stand contractor to design and install the Women In Tech Lounge at Web Summit Lisbon, sponsored by Booking.com. The lounge design met a detailed brief from Booking.com on zones, partners and functionality required at the world’s most popular tech event.
The lounge attracts over 3,000 visitors per day and offers a generous variety of refreshments. This year, we were honoured once again to have Portugal’s Barista of the Year 2019 serving Delta coffee. Over 800 glasses of wine were poured at the end of each day for Booking.com’s ever-popular networking hour.
Winners of the Tech Playmaker Awards were displayed on a gallery, with the opportunity to enter 2020’s competition promoted heavily around the stand. The Tech Playmaker Award programme celebrates women who are transforming businesses, industries and communities through technology.
The priority for the 400m2 space was to maximise seating, create a welcoming atmosphere in which to relax, work and find out more about Booking.com opportunities for women in the tech sector. Being one of the busiest spaces at the show, it was important to devise a clear traffic flow strategy on and off the lounge. A segregated, quiet zone for mentor appointments accommodated 60+ appointments per day. To keep visitors occupied while queuing for the best coffee at Web Summit, we placed an interactive zone where visitors could get a professional headshot photo for their social media profiles.
This year’s lounge featured a green wall with large screen, ipad bench for the Recruitment team to advise visitors on career opportunities at Booking.com and several screens placed around the lounge showing Booking.com’s current #expandhorizons campaign videos.
