Meet the Green Team!

As part of our continued drive towards a more sustainable future we are proud to announce the formation of the Elevations Green Team! This lovely bunch of people will endeavour to generate ideas and projects that will meaningfully contribute to the sustainability of the company. The team will address the three pillars of corporate sustainability, environmental, social and economic.

The environmental aspect deals with minimising waste and reducing our carbon footprint. For example the Admin team have reduced the use of paper by sending more materials as PDFs. The wonderful walling system developed by Rob Bollard and Dolf Medina has a far lower carbon footprint because the raw material is timber which effectively sequesters carbon throughout its lifecycle, from seedling to construction material to mulch.

The social pillar underscores our ethical obligation to nurture the well-being of our staff and cultivate meaningful connections with external stakeholders and our local community. This involves conducting business with empathy on a human level, looking out for each other and ensuring fairness, equality and respect. Our Elevations Social Team have organised events to bring us together as people beyond work colleagues which highlights our greatest strength is our people. The charities we support, the schools we assist, the gifts to local community groups, these activities contribute to recognising we are part of bigger community.

The economic objective within corporate sustainability is the long-term financial viability of the business. It is the ability to sustain profitability, thrive and grow, and to provide value to its stakeholders. We are the stakeholders, as are our clients and suppliers who we depend upon and who depend upon us.

In every area Elevations are working towards improvement which will be measured and reported on annually. To assist us with this process we have employed David Humphreys of Green Circle Solutions Ltd as a sustainability consultant and strategist. David has worked in the exhibition industry for over 23 years before retraining in the field of sustainability. He will chair all the Green Team meetings documenting our progress and producing carbon footprint calculation for the business and direction to develop better practices. The breadth of his knowledge comes from working with organisers, our competitors and suppliers and is always pragmatic about what can be achieved and at what pace.

And now, meet the Green Team: Mark Thomason, Tom Tamlyn, James Clarke, Natalia Bubel, James Gouldsmith, Alisha Gopiani, Stephen MacKenzie, Lorraine Osbourne, Sharon Scotson, Chris Thomason, Sarah Thorp, Jonathan Trotman, Neil Smith and Rob Bollard.
